Product Description
Trimethyl phosphate is an organic reagent that is stable at room temperature. It has good solubility in various resins, low viscosity, and low color. It is primarily used as a solvent and extractant in the pharmaceutical and pesticide industries. It is also used as an additive flame retardant and plasticizer, although its flame retardant efficiency is not high and it has high volatility. It is often used in combination with other flame retardants. It finds wide applications in industries such as plastics, resins, rubber, construction, and textiles.
Usage and application
- Additive for epoxy resins.
- Antistaining agent in the processing of polyester fibers.
- Lubricant for textiles.
- Additive for gasoline to prevent knocking, improve octane rating, and enhance stability during storage of leaded gasoline.
- Control agent for surface ignition of gasoline, inhibitor of tetraethyl lead decomposition at high temperatures, and non-corrosive gasoline additive.
- The catalyst for the polymerization of polyester fibers.
- Modifier for graphite products.
- Plasticizer.
- Extractant.
- Raw material for pesticide and insecticide production.
Trimethyl phosphate undergoes hydrolysis when exposed to water, so it should be protected from moisture during storage. Due to its hydrolysis, it releases PO43- ions, making it a homogeneous precipitant for forming insoluble phosphate salts. It is commonly used as a precipitation reagent for zirconium, and hafnium, and as a diffusion source for semiconductor determination.
Storage
TMP should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, and ventilated place, kept moisture-proof and waterproof, and far away from kindling material and heat sources. Galvanized drum, 200kg net each, 1000kg square IBC package.
