Product Description
Triethyl phosphate is a high-boiling solvent and a plasticizer for rubber and plastics. It is also used as a catalyst and as a raw material for the production of pesticides and insecticides, as well as for ethylation reactions in the production of ethyl ketone. In Japan, 70% of this product is used as a catalyst, and approximately 20% is used as a solvent.
Its main functions are as follows:
Catalyst
- The catalyst for the isomerization of xylene.
- The catalyst for the polymerization of olefins.
- The catalyst for the production of tetraethyllead.
- The catalyst for the production of carbodiimide.
- The catalyst for the substitution reaction of trialkyl boranes and olefins.
- The catalyst for the high-temperature dehydration of acetic acid to produce ethyl ketone.
- The catalyst for the polymerization of styrene and conjugated diene compounds.
Solvent
- Solvent for nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate.
- Solvent for maintaining the lifespan of organic peroxide catalysts.
- Solvent for the dispersion of vinyl fluoride.
- Peroxide agent and diluent for curing catalysts for polyester and epoxy resins.
Stabilizer
- Stabilizer for chlorine-based insecticides.
- Stabilizer for phenol-formaldehyde resins.
- Stabilizer for polyol resins.
In Synthetic Resins
- As the curing agent for resins such as dimethyl phenol-formaldehyde.
- As the softener for phenol-formaldehyde resins used in shell molding.
- As the plasticizer for vinyl chloride and ethyl acetate polymers
- As flame retardant for polyester resins.
Package
